I am excited to finally be sharing this project with you. I love using quartz crystals for healing and I had a great idea on how to store them.

I have been doing so many furniture makeovers recently (like the Goodwill cabinet and the set of three tables I made over). It was nice to take a break and work on a fun upcycle project. If you are into crystals like I am, you will love this DIY crystal storage project.

A little back story on this DIY crystal storage project.

Last year my mom and I went to the Getty Villa in Malibu. She had never been before and it was a lovely day to go. We stopped by the gift store before we left to mosey around.

My mom saw this cute little wooden box that held tea drops and I had to have them. I brought them home and used up all the drops and didn’t know what to do with the box after. I definitely wasn’t going to toss it. Instead, I decided based on its size… that it would store my quartz crystals for healing perfectly. It would work great for travel storage if I wanted to bring crystals with me.

Back to my story…

I went to Pinterest for inspiration on how I could make this DIY crystal storage project unique and aesthetically pleasing.  After some research, I decided I wanted to paint it and create constellations and stars all over the box. I had some old vintage keys from my family sitting in my craft room for a long time, so I decided to incorporate these into the project too.

I broke out my craft paints and brushes as well as a hot glue gun and got to work on making this a masterpiece for my altar.

It took a little time and a few layers of paint to get it the way I wanted but I am very happy with the finished product.

I hot glued some fabric into the inside of the box as a means to keep the crystals from clanking around. It worked out perfectly.
